Kent Country House
Our redesign of this beautiful, late Georgian former rectory began with the refurbishment of its bathrooms. We took inspiration from its serene Kent countryside surroundings using natural textures, textiles and timber. Our scope throughout expanded to include the rest of the property, where we kept the general colour palette soft and warm to achieve an updated country feel.
We stayed true to the property’s character, retaining authentic features such as the original woodwork on the staircase, and elevating them with the addition of contemporary features and furnishings along the way. We laid new intricate timber floors in a light tone for a softer, gentle feel. We designed completely new the dressing rooms and extensive joinery for the back of the house areas for additional storage and functionality. We are particularly fond of the snug where we created a fully panelled room for existing fragments.
Large sash windows offer views of the property’s expansive grounds and gardens, lovingly designed by landscape architect Lloyd Brunt to reveal the adjacent meadow and woodland.
